Timeless Tuesday #251: Vellum

Christmas is only a week away! I hope you're all ready and can take some time to really enjoy the holiday. And, we've got one more Timeless Tuesday Challenge for you, before we get into the hustle and bustle of next week's festivities!

Our newest Timeless Tuesday Guest Hostess is Greta Hess, and she is challenging us to...

Well, this challenge couldn't have come at a better time for me! I had made a gift box for an ornament exchange that needed a little decoration, and I wanted to use snowflakes, but the dp I used on the box top was heavily glittered already, so stamping directly on it didn't seem like a good option. Vellum, however, was perfect!

I made the box using a Silhouette cut file, then I used Flourishes cut file for the Handmade Snowflakes stamp set and cut all the flakes and the "Joy" sentiment out of vellum. I stamped the images onto the vellum with VersaMark ink, then heat embossed the snowflakes with a silver glitter embossing powder, and the sentiment with a red glitter embossing powder. I attached them to the box by applying glue directly underneath the embossed areas so it wouldn't show through the vellum. Then I randomly added clear and white sequins.

Here's a slightly different angle, so you can see the top better.

When I placed the snowflakes, I opened the lid and treated the top and the front as one piece. I wanted the flakes to look as though they were falling off the top onto the side. I'm not sure how well that comes across, but I like how it turned out.

This was such a fun project! I am totally loving my new Silhouette!!! Flourishes cut files make projects like this super easy!
