Tiddly Inks Gratitude & Joyfulness Challenge

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, Tiddly Inks has a Gratitude & Joyfulness Challenge! I'm thankful for a lot of things, and one of them is my daughter. She is such a sweetheart. The Tiddly Inks Girl's Best Friend image is one of my favs because it looks so much like her and the dog even looks like my Silky Terrier, so choosing it for this challenge was a no-brainer. =)

I printed the image onto X-Press Blending Card, then colored it with Copics. I added a tiny dot of white to her eye and some black Wink of Stella to the dog's nose. I created the sentiment in Word, printed it in reverse onto a transparency, then rubbed it onto the pink cs. I went over the letters with a Black Spica pen, then gave them a slight shadow with a gold Spica. With a Copic multiliner, I drew wonky lines around the sentiment, and finally added dots of black Stickles to the corners.
The inside sentiment was also created in Word and rubbed onto the cs. More squiggly lines finished the card off nicely. I hope you'll join us in this fun challenge, and be sure to check out the rest of the DT for plenty of amazing cards for inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week, and if you are in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving!

The Cat’s Out of the Bag...uuuh...Cup!

Friday, November 21, 2014

It's another Fabulous Friday at Tiddly Inks, and the Cat's Out of the Bag Cup...Tiddly Inks Stamps are Adorable!!! Wait till you see all the cards we have to show you this week! Here's mine:
I used the super cute Cup of Kitty image for my card. There is something about this little guy that just makes me happy! :~D  He is colored with Copics, and I used a white Sharpie marker to make the white dots on the cup. Glossy Accents is on his nose so it pokes over the edge of the cup. I love texture on cards, so I used a bit here with layers, stitching, an argyle embossed background, a decorative border around the image, and a few sequins. The sentiment is handwritten, and continued on the inside of the card.
I don't know if it would have been clear without explanation, but the rest of my handwritten sentiment on the inside of the card is a play on the expression, "The cat's out of the bag." The You're Purrr-fect sentiment is from the Chubby Chums Paper Smooches stamp set. More Copic coloring on the Set of Kittys image, a Glossy nose, some stitching and embossing texture, and I'm done. This was a blast to make!

As soon as I saw the Set of Kittys, I had plans for the set, and pairing it with Cup of Kitty was first on my list! I'm mostly a dog person, but these scruffy kitties are irresistible. Expect a card set using them, soon!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Tiddly Inks DT and soak up some of their amazing awesomeness! And, there's still time to enter the Tiddly Inks Remembrance or Honor Challenge, too!

Remembrance/Honor Challenge at Tiddly Inks!

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

It's November 11th, Veteran's Day in the United States, the day America has rightly set aside to honor all veterans who have served honorably in the military, whether in wartime or peacetime. (And, if you are in the U.K., you just observed Remembrance Sunday). If you know a veteran, be sure to take time today to thank them for their service to your country!

And, in keeping with the holiday, over at Tiddly Inks, the theme for the current challenge is Remembrance or HonorCreate something in memory or in honor of someone. So, create a card or project for a veteran, or for anyone whom you want to honor or remember, for any reason.
I used the Light My Life digital image, colored completely in Earth-colored Copics, to make a card for my brother, whose birthday happens to be today, November 11th. I wrote the "Remembering You" sentiment by hand, and obviously need some practice on hand-lettering. The suede "ribbon" was a waist tie from an old jacket. I love it when something I've saved "just in case" I might need it some day, finally comes in handy. ;~)

Did some hand-lettering inside the card, too, with a little doodling on the top and bottom of the sentiment panel.

So, who will you honor? Check out the beautiful creations from the Tiddly Inks Design Team for ideas and inspiration, then create your own card or project and link up for a chance to win!

I hope you have a great week. And, if you are a Veteran, THANK YOU! Your service to our country is greatly appreciated today, and every day!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 201
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Thinking of You
613 Avenue Create Challenge #97: Anything Goes
The Shabby Tea Room-Week #239: Just Neutrals
TSC Challenge #54: Anything Goes

Seize the Day, Wryn!--Tiddly Inks Fab Friday

Friday, November 7, 2014

Hey all you peeps! Need some crafty inspiration for the weekend? Well, you're in luck! It's Tiddly Inks Fabby Friday, and we've got over a dozen Fabulous creations to jump start your mojo!
I used two digital stamps for my card: Wryn's Leaves and Twisted Tree. I printed them onto X-Press Blending Card, then colored them with Copics. The designer papers are from my scraps.

Don't you just love how happy Wryn looks, playing in the leaves? I used to love doing that when I was a kid. I wonder...with all the mulching mowers nowadays, do people even rake leaves anymore? I know we don't. That's a shame. Just look at what today's kids are missing out on. ;)  But, on the bright side--with no raking to do, think how much more time you have for crafting!!! Yay!

Be sure to visit the Tiddly Inks Blog to see the rest of the DT's Amazing Creations! And, don't forget, you still have time to enter the Black Cats challenge, too!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful week!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday: Good 'ol Days
613 Avenue Create Challenge #96: Anything Goes
