Bugs

Sunday, July 6, 2014

Good morning, Friends! I've got one more card to share before I take a short break to finish up the kits for my July classes.
I used this same stamp set a few days ago, but for this one, I also used the coordinating die set to cut out all the images. Everything is colored with Copics, and, it's very subtle, but I added clear Wink of Stella to the sun for a little shine. I just love this sentiment. It's such a sweet way to send an apology. :~)
I used my Copic airbrush again to create a cloudy sky (I am seriously loving my airbrush lately!), added a grassy border and a couple of ants, and I was done! So easy!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Let's Celebrate!

Monday, November 4, 2013

Happy Monday! I needed a masculine birthday card this week, so I pulled out one of Tim Holtz's Birthday Blueprint stamps and whipped this card up in no time!
I think this card is self-explanatory, so I won't add unnecessary details. If you have any questions about something on the card, just shoot me an email. :)
Inside the card, I attempted to created a shadow on the sentiment. It worked, but maybe too good. The sentiment seems to be hovering over the cs, which makes my eyes a little crazy. But, it's still a cool technique.

Gotta run...I'm going to meet a friend for breakfast, and some stampers for lunch. This will be a good day!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a good day, too! :)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes

Beach Babes

Monday, June 3, 2013

A while back, I spent almost an entire day coloring one image, and I finally got around to making it into a card.
I just love the distinct personalities these four beach babes have. :) I never liked coloring skin until I took my Copic Certification class. Now, it's fun. I gave each of these ladies different looks--the first one has clear, medium skin tone, the second is pale, has a little zinc oxide on her nose and cheeks, and uses Red Hot Mama lipstick to give herself bigger lips ;),  the third one has rosacea and age spots, and the last one is my sun worshipper. The image is colored with Copics, and I used a clear Spica pen on the sand and drink glasses, and Glossy Accents on their sunglasses. The white dots on the green scarf are a white gel pen. I added some clouds with a cloud stencil. The seam binding was dyed with Distress Reinkers. My hands will be purple for days!

Here's a better look at the sparkly Spica sand, and the age spots on the third babe's legs.

I almost always use plastic rhinestones, but a friend gave me a packet of Swarovski crystals some months back, and every now and then I splurge with them. It's amazing how much better they look on a card versus plastic bling. I'll be using Swarovski's more often, I think, now that I've figured out an easier way to apply them. (I'll do a post on that later, after I find the tools I need for it).

On the inside I used my score board to make straight and diagonal score lines on the medium purple layer. I hope that cute sentiment made you smile. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day.
